Employed Individuals with Disabilities (EID) Program
The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene has announced a new program that will allow Marylanders with disabilities the abilitiy to work and not lose their health benefits for a small fee.

Employment Systems Transformation Steering Committee

Maryland WorkFORCE Promise is partnering with the Maryland Department of Disabilities (MDOD) and the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) on an Employment Systems Transformation Steering Committee. The goal of the committee is to establish common employment definitions, values driven outcomes, to create a vision/map for what the system should look like, and to define initial action steps toward the vision.

In order to get a more indepth understanding of the process, you may review documents generated by the Employment Systems Transformation Steering Committee. Please select from the list of documents below.

• Maryland’s Disability Employment Service Planning Process: Explains the background of the committee, the process, and the final recommendations.
• Belief and Value Statement:The most current belief and value statements agreed upon by the committee
• Executive Summary of the Final Report to Maryland Department of Disabilities. This report includes priority recommendations and action steps.
• Interim Report: Report given to the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Disabilities which outlines the steering committee's process to date.
• Steering Committee Background: Document explaining the purpose of the steering committee.
• Maryland Department of Disabilities (MDOD) Employment and Training: Explains MDOD's employment and training vision and goals.
• Common Glossary: A list of definitions agreed upon by the steering committee to date.
• Media Advisory: Maryland Department of Disabilities announces a Press Conference to be held on August 17, 2005. Members of the ESTSC will present the committee’s newly released recommendations detailing ways the state can increase its efforts to improve employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
